Early this morning we left Amiens for the city of love and life, Paris. We got to Paris at about mid day and went for a walk around the city. We made sure to be careful and safe when it came to our belongings. Fortunately none of us had anything go missing.
After a long walk, we discovered that the Christmas Markets were being held in a completely different place this year so we weren’t able to go. But instead we were able to get a good look at the Eiffel Tower, which in my opinion is just a tiny bit overrated. But nonetheless it was a good iconic sight to see.
Later in the afternoon we went on a river cruise around Paris. It was absolutely amazing! Seeing the sights of Paris at sunset and with good weather is a dream. We saw the lights go on at the Eiffel Tower, and how they flash all over.
We got to visit Shakespeare and Company Book Store which was breathtaking and very overwhelming seeing so many books, trying to read all the blurbs of all the books in such little time was too much! But I did buy a small poetry book called “She Must Be Mad” by Charly Cox.
Finishing the night we had a three course meal at a nice restaurant. And we tried ‘Escargot’!!! Which was delicious, I loved the taste and went round for seconds.
With only a few days to go I am in denial wish I could stay longer. Not looking forward to the plane ride home is all I can say.
