On the 4th of December, I had the honour of reading out a poem in memory of James McLelland.
We arrived at St Sever Cemetery, Rouen, where we found his grave.
Researching and listening about Australian soldiers is entirely different in comparison to actually standing there, seeing where they have been buried. I took a deep breath, before starting to read the poem.
James McLelland fought and died so that we could have the freedom that we have today, and I thank him for his sacrifice.
