This trip has been a life changing experience.
From museums, to cemeteries, to Disneyland, I think we can safely say that we all have learnt something and pushed ourselves out of our comfort zones. Although Harry Potter Studios and Disneyland were extremely fun, the main point of this trip was WW1.
The eulogies that people had written were touching and moving, and I know for me personally really eye opening.
Learning about the soldiers in class and reading the number of deaths does not compare to seeing all of the graves, with names of soldiers written on them, and knowing that they all had families, friends and a life of their own.
If this trip has taught me one thing, it’s to be grateful for everything I have and to not take things for granted.
I was lucky enough to be able to go on this trip, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to do it with me.
I would like to say a special thanks to Mr Dennis for organising this trip, making it all happen and making sure we stayed safe. Without him this trip wouldn’t have happened.
I would also like to thank Ms McKernan for putting up with all of us, helping us when needed (like when half of us got sick), and for doing her part in keeping us all safe. And last, but not least, I would like to thank Bill. Without all the time and effort he has put in, the website would not be up and running and people would not be able to see what we have been experiencing.
Thanks to everyone for an amazing trip!
