The Battlefields Tour
Of course, we could not all travel on the tour with the students, but this small “virtual tour” might give you some more insight and perspective in to the people, places and experiences shared by the tour group.
We created a Google-Earth Virtual Tour in 2013. It is what is called a “.kmz” file.
To view this virtual tour, you need two things.
- A copy of google-earth installed and running on your computer. Download it here.
- A copy of the BSC_Battlefields_Tour_2013.kmz file.
You can download that here: BSC_Battlefields_Tour_2013.kmz
Once you have downloaded this file, you need to open it using GOOGLE EARTH.
Your computer needs to be connected to the internet.
Once you open the BSC_Battlefields_Tour_2013.kmz file you need to navigate to the “play tour” button or icon [depending on your version]
The “tour” will then “play” on your computer, following the itinerary of the tour.
This is a 3D model of the real world, based on real satellite images combined with maps, guides to restaurants, hotels, entertainment, businesses and more. You can zoom from space to street level instantly and then pan or jump from place to place, city to city, even country to country.
